Leading out, to lead within

Tuesday 4 August 2020 7-8pm AEST

Presenter bio

There are many ways to seek out leadership development beyond a school to allow for leadership within. Examples will include union leadership, leading an online academic reading group, sharing best practice through 'Teach Meets' and, in this presenter's, case taking groups of teachers to Cambodia to upskill Khmer teachers. Instructional leadership through sharing ideas and thinking through podcasting, creating instructional video as well as leading Twitter chats can be of great value. The session will also discuss how these can allow for more useful contributions to school-based leadership and will offer ideas for seeking out similar avenues in your own setting.
