Improving writing is a key challenge for schools across Australia. This webinar will focus on how you can use evidence-informed approaches of feedback and metacognition to improve writing through a case study of Our Lady Help of Christians School (OLHOC) in Far North Queensland.

AITSL Standards Addressed:
5.2.2 Provide timely, effective and appropriate feedback to students about their achievement relative to their learning goals.
5.2.3 Select from an effective range of strategies to provide targeted feedback based on informed and timely judgements of each student's current needs in order to progress learning

Feedback and metacognition are two of the most effective ways to improve students' learning, this will be the key focus of the webinar.

What will you learn?
You will learn practical strategies to improve student writing through the provision of timely, effective and appropriate feedback. Feedback can be received or given to individuals or a group of students. Learn how to implement evidence informed techniques on when to give or receive feedback, whom to give it to, and how metacognitive strategies can enable students to edit and revise their own writing.
