The Studio School at Kurri Kurri High School (KKHS) offers a parallel industry- and school-based education to students from Years 9 to 13 to participate in a minimum of one day a week in Internship experiences in industries that either interest them or which will develop the skills they need for their chosen industry. This session will follow the school's journey of the last 3 years to successfully increased numbers of students leaving school before the end of Y12 directly into apprenticeships and traineeships.

Head Teacher of the Studio School, Lisa Scobie, together with KKHS's transition advisor, David Buswell, will share how the school built unique curriculum and assessment methods that heavily involved collaborative practices to understand how our students wanted to learn and allowing students to individually differentiate their learning as well as engaging parents actively in the learning environment.
