Even before this present crisis there was much discussion in schools, schooling systems nationally and internationally about the need to transform through re-imagined learning and curriculum. In this session we explore how curriculum can move beyond syllabus dot points to create deep and connected learning for all students. Drawing on our 50 partnership schools throughout Australia and our research and practice we will explore how transformation is a deep learning process. Using the Learning Disposition Wheel outlined in Transforming Education we will explore how deeper learning can be achieved through an understanding of the dispositions for learning and a coherent understanding of creativity, critical reflection, collaboration and communication and how these capacities enable effective transformation.

AITSL Standards addressed:
1.1 physical, social and intellectual development and characteristics of students
1.2 understand how students learn
2.3 curriculum, assessment and reporting
3.3 use teaching strategies
