Student learning is more effective when the curriculum, teaching and assessment are aligned. Internationally we see that this is often not the case, with assessments narrowing what is taught and how it is taught. This presentation looks at how classroom assessment can be used to better align with curriculum and to encourage more creative teaching. It looks at the importance of classroom dialogue, at the need for clarity about what is being learned, and the importance of informative feedback
