Flexible working hours, to be negotiated with the ACSA Executive - 60 hours per fortnight

Remuneration - $48.50 hourly rate, plus superannuation.

The Australian Curriculum Studies Association (ACSA) is a broadly based educational association supporting the professional interests of educators in curriculum work from all levels and sectors within and beyond Australia. It supports educators so that all students have access to a meaningful, relevant and engaging curriculum.

The role:

As Director you will provide high level administrative support for the ACSA Executive and be responsible for the management and progress of ACSA policies, priorities and projects including:

Management of the Association;

Management of ACSA advocacy, social media and other media activity;

Development of ACSA's yearly webinar series; and

Planning and management of ACSA's projects, symposiums, conference and workshops.

You will oversee the day to day running of the ACSA Secretariat based in Canberra including:

Management of the membership data base;

Member and stakeholder engagement;

Financial management;

Staff management;

Liaison with ACSA accountant and IT provider; and

Management of the ACSA office.

While the ACSA Secretariat is based in Canberra, you will not necessarily need to be based in Canberra for this role. If you are not based in Canberra, you may be required to travel to Canberra occasionally, on these occasions travel and accommodation will be paid for by ACSA. Expected start date for the role is 1 July 2022.

The contract is for a period of 6 months with the potential for it to be ongoing.

Selection Criteria:

Our ideal candidate will have:

A background in education;

Experience in the development of professional learning for educators;

Outstanding knowledge of, and experience using social media;

Project management experience;

Excellent communication skills;

Small team leadership and management experience;

An understanding of association governance; and

Experience in marketing and financial management.
